At a meeting of Crawfordsville Lodge No 223, IOOF held at its Lodge room March 30, 1872, the following preamble and resolutions were adopted
Whereas, the Supreme Architect of the Universe has called our beloved brother James C. Wray from his labors of usefulness in this to the Grand Lodge above, therefore
Resolved, That we his brothers bow in submission to Him who doeth all things well, that our brother's loss to us is his great gain.
Resolved, that we tender to the widow and family of our deceased brother the heartfelt sympathy of this Lodge that the Lodge be draped in mourning for 30 days that these resolutions be published iin the Star,, Journal and Review of this city, and that the Secretary be instructed to send a copy of these resolutions to the family of our deceased brother.
